Ridiculous billing

Purchased electricity for R500 on the 26th Nov 2018, of which 50% was “supposedly” allocated to water. Two weeks prior to the R500 purchase, I purchased electricity for R400 (on the 18th Nov 2018), again 50% was subtracted.

I fail to understand how this is possible and why the 50% deduction everytime I purchase electricity

Good morning Samuel

Despite the water invoices that are sent every month, you are never paying anything towards your water account.  The system only deducts water amounts from electricity purchases once an amount owed for water falls into arrears.

Due to the water account constantly being in arrears, you are incurring interest charges as well.

You are advised to pay each water invoice before the due date to prevent interest charges, and to ensure that you receive electricity for the full amount of your purchase.  When paying the water account, please ensure that the correct reference is used as it is indicated on the water invoice and it is different from the reference that you use for prepaid purchases.
