Protea Metering price hikes are ridiculous
I'm no expect however something is definitely doggy about protea metering.
Moved into apartments that uses them: registered with them and paid the deposit and since last year: sewage was raging around R105 +- & water R125 + every month however since the 1st July 2019 increase there's been about 300% increase.
I called protea metering and I no one seem to explain such a hike! Despite the increase(institutional increase which is worse case scenario is 12% increase) and for household is 9.9% increase.
With the above increase, it still doesn't justify sewage from R105+- to more than R400 & water from R125 to an increase of over R600. This is appalling to say the least.
I need any form of ombudsman that can challenge the likes of protea metering

Although the water & sewer tariffs increased form 1 July 2019, the increased amount is actually due to your consumption that increased drastically. How much water is consumed is beyond our control. Factors like more residents in the unit, water leaks that are not always visible etc may have a huge impact on the amount of kl of water consumed.
Kindly contact the Portfolio Manager from whom you are receiving your invoices to arrange with them should you like to have the reading confirmed or the meter tested.
