Protea Metering
This system should not exit because it is useless and a *******. we loaded our electricity at 1pm and it's now 5.40pm and still nothing and their consultants are useless when you call them they lie and say in 10 15 minutes your electricity should be restored and an hour goes by and nothing. southgate ridge 375, we spoke to a white person that was very irritated by us. if you do not like black people then do not work at a place where you need to service them because you are not gonna talk to us as if we are not paying. why cant we get our electricity from city power? we were without electricity for days because protea metering owed the municipality when we buy electricity. this system is nonsense needs to be banned.
You certainly need to be better informed, and we would love to assist with that:
- Protea Metering collects all funds on behalf of the Body Corporate.
- The collected funds are then paid over to the Body Corporate.
- The Body Corporate receives the council account and is responsible for payment thereof.
If the meter auto switch-off because there are no credits, it means that you have indeed neglected to make a payment. Once you run out of credits and you make a payment the electricity should auto switch on within a few minutes. Smart meters are however affected by bad cell phone signals and load shedding that may cause a delay. You may however manage that by topping up before you run out of credits and thus prevent the meter from ever switching off. The consumer is the only one who has total control of the situation.
Not taking the risk of losses due to non-payment or meter tampering is one of the advantages for City Power not doing individual metering inside of domestic complexes. All the risks are on the Body Corporate and they therefore prefer to go with companies providing a smart metering solution to prevent losses.
