Pretea Metering is ripping people off
When I app**** for their electricity and water services, I opted for the prepaid service knowing in that way I would be able to monitor the way I use water and lights.
They decided to put me on the option where you receive a \surprise"bill with a ridiculous amount!!!
I paid R1500 when I registered"

10 Dec 2015, 09:16Hello 691gpwzk,
When you move into a unit that does not have a prepaid meter, the owner of the unit has the option to apply and pay for placement of a prepaid meter.
Once the application for installation and payment is received, it goes onto the waiting list for prepaid meter installations - usually a period of about 6 weeks, depending on the volume of applications on the list.
Until such time that a prepaid meter is installed on request from the owner, the account stays on the normal post paid system and invoices are processed and forwarded.
Your posting does not provide sufficient information to determine your address or account number, and we would have liked to attend to your specific case.
When we phoned you, you dropped the phone on us and several attempts to get hold of you afterwards and the voice messages that we left were all in vain. You are creating the perception that you just wanted to complain for the sake of complaining but that you do not really want to be assisted.
If you wish for us to attend to the matter, please be so kind to forward an email to *** and address it to: The Manager, Debtors Dept.
Regards
