Is Protea Metering a distibutor of electricity and water Or is protea metering our body corporate???
I would like to report Protea Metering for ********* practice. They *******ly cut off my power and resulted in burning out of my appliances because I apperently owe levies of the complex im staying in. This happened 3 times already since lockdown 2020. They refuse to even reconnect you when you ask them and reffer you to speak to your body corporate. What does an electricity and water distributor have to do with my levies? Very upsetting. If anyone knows how i can take this up, please advise.

Levy cuts are completely under the authority of the Body Corporate.
The electrical infrastructure in a complex is the property of a Body Corporate, and it is also maintained with the levies that are payable, just as any other items that are the responsibility of the Body Corporate.
A body Corporate who denies an owner access to the electrical infrastructure due to unpaid levies would therefore be acting in their full legal rights to do so.
You are advised to contact your Body Corporate or their appointed Managing Agent to resolve the matter.
