greedy organisation
I got a demand email on the 3rd Jul for w & e invoice, i have not received the invoice as my mail account was deactivated. I did not know there was arrears, whn i got the mail i immediately requested invoice. it was not sent bt decided to pay anyway on the 4th and sent through proof of pmnt. on th 6th i received a letter of demand with a 120 charge and a 500 increase on my deposit. No matter how much i explained that i did not receive the invoice or that i paid before the letter was issued, the organisation found excuses not to remove the incorrect billings from my account. i am so upset and dissatisfied. 'Makkie' , [Email Removed] have all been involved in the matter. This organisation is *********** and very greedy period
We have provided you with proof that the invoice was sent. You are well aware of the fact that you receive your monthly invoices via email. It was your choice not to do the responsible thing to notify us that your email account was deactivated - how were we supposed to know that? You were also informed when you signed on for the account that invoices can be retrieved from our web page.
We have forwarded an extract of the Council bylaws that stipulate that non-receipt of the invoice is no excuse for non- or late payment. It is also one of the terms of the agreement that you have signed.
How you manage your account payments are beyond our control and your account was overdue. The processing and delivery of a Letter of demand unfortunately has a cost implication - in any type of business. It was explained to you that the fee is merely to recoup actual costs that we have incurred. The recouping of these costs are also according to Council bylaws.
We are satisfied that all your questions were properly attended to in the many emails between yourself and Protea.
