Full deposit not returned
Hello,
I paid a deposit of R1,500 when I moved into my unit. However, upon moving out, I only received R880 of the deposit back. I am still awaiting the refund of the outstanding balance.
Could you please provide an update on when the remaining amount will be refunded?
Thank you.
Good day Dineshri
You had an initial deposit of R1 500 to cover both the electricity- and water account.
After a prepaid electricity meter was placed, the deposit was reduced to R700 on 04/12/2023 to cover for the water only account.
When you moved out and terminated the water account, the full R700 deposit was reversed and the final credit balance of R881.27 was refunded on 14/08/2026.
We will forward you the relevant invoices, reflecting the reduction of the deposit in 2023, as well as the reversal of the deposit when the account was terminated, via email.
Kind regards,

Please refer to the email that we have sent. The email includes a full statement of the account. Although the deposit was reduced, the account still reflected an outstanding balance that was more than the amount of the partial deposit reversal. The deposit therefore only covered a portion of your outstanding balance, and there was no credit amount left at the time to do a refund.
