Electricity reap by Protea Metering
They charge shared services of R40.08 daily on electricity purchases
Good day Sindiswa
Kindly note that apart from the kWh consumption of electricity, and water consumption with the first 6 kl per month for free, the account includes several ESKOM and COJ monthly fixed charges, as also reflected on you monthly invoices:
Eskom Network Charge Dom R472.37
COJ Dom Water Demand Levy R107.74
COJ Refuse R221.74 COJ
Sewer Charge R173.91
Instead of the total amount of the fixed charges being deducted all at once when the invoice is processed, it is split into daily portions to make it easier on consumers.
It is still your prerogative to pay the full amount at once when the invoice is processed, so that the daily portions are taken care of in advance and you don't need to make provision for it on a daily basis.
Please note that tariffs are not established by Protea Metering or by the Body Corporate.
The amounts collected on behalf of the Body Corporate is required for them to be able to pay the bulk accounts for services. If the bulk account payments are not kept up to date, the Council will terminate the bulk supply of electricity and/or water to the complex.
Kind regards
