Dishonesty regarding charges
Protea Metering has some ridiculous charges and they will never let you know about them you will just see your electricity and water charges going so fast and their consultant are not willing to assist when you ask the reason why your electricity and water charges are high , its like they have taught them to all say one thing to favor the company , these people are terrible do not ever rent a flat using Protea Metering

It is hard to assist with the relevant promulgated tariffs if the unit number and complex name is not provided to establish under which City Council's tariffs your complex falls.
Perhaps the consultant informed you that Protea Metering has no say in the promulgated tariffs - whatever is promulgated by the relevant City Council and approved by NERSA is what is app****? Consultants are not taught to respond as such to favor the Company - that response is factual and based on the truth. That response would therefore be accurate.
You may have also been informed that only the residents of the household has control over how water and electricity is consumed. That is also a fact. We are simply recording the readings and that does not enable us to have any influence over the number of kwh of electricity or kl of water used.
You would be paying the same irrespective of which company is appointed for the reading service because all are bound to apply the Council's promulgated tariffs.
The funds collected does not stay in our pocket - there are bulk accounts that needs to be paid. If the bulk accounts were not paid in full and in time, your complex's services would have been terminated by the Council....
