Being ****med with Water Bill at Southgate Ridge
I am a resident in Southgate Ridge Complex,Protea Metering took charge of the water & electricity Metering a couple of months ago here. I have an issue with the water bill,it's so crazy,my bill has multip**** 4 times since they tool over,I have asked for a breakdown on how they calculated, I have asked to be present while my meter is read but I don't get any response it's really a sad state of affairs. Lots of residents are contemplating to move just because of the water & electricity are exorbitant.

Kindly note that electricity and water tariffs are determined by CoJ and by law it is app**** accordingly.
The readings are recorded electronically. Recording the readings also does not enable us to control how much is consumed. This is controlled solely by the residents of a household.
We would love to provide you with a breakdown of your account, and provide you with the promulgated tariffs. Kindly confirm the unit number?

It can't be possible that ever since Protea Metering ever since you took over my water and sanitation bill has increased drastically, and also it can't be a coincidence that other tenants are complaining about the same thing. My unit number is 228,kindly contact me.

Please note that a water meter is not locked inside a safety kiosk like the electricity meters. You should be able to confirm the water reading at any time. Kindly ask the caretaker or building management should you require assistance.
The water consumption seems absolutely normal for a household with more than one resident:
