ABSOLUTELY APPALLED AND DISGUSTED

Yoh, I wish I could give a 0 star rating. I have had endless problems with Protea Metering. Unfortunately I don't have a choice to change providers as it is the building's management who chose Protea Metering. I have lost count of the amount of times I have bought electricity and a token was not generated. I don't know if it's maybe a money making scheme (probably), but if you don't check your meter every single time you buy, you are bound to lose hundreds or thousands of rands. Furthermore, I have had multiple experiences of my online meter not reading correctly and running out of electricity, then when I buy, it is never generated into electricity and I have wasted thousands of rands of food because of this. The one time my meter glitched, it took 9+ hours to be fixed and to get electricity again. Last night it happened again and I was out of electricity from 10pm until 10am whereafter I, of course, had loadshedding so I had no electricity for 13 hours straight. I am honestly appalled. Currently my meter has completely glitched out once again and I honestly don't even trust the reading anymore. PLEASE for the sake of you customers sanity and hard earned money, fix your system. Electricity is already so flipping expensive and we also have loadshedding, the last thing South Africans need is *****ing and poor service delivery. I will NEVER choose Protea Metering and I will definitely be ***cotting all residences that use Protea Metering in the future. I suggest anyone reading this does the same if they can. RIP to their customer's sanity and bank accounts, I wish you luck. Be persistent and don't let them take you for a ****.

Good day Natasha

Although we regret the inconvenience the sad reality is that loadshedding affects all walks of life, and the metering industry is not exempted.

The communication with the meters are greatly affected and that is unfortunately beyond our control.  All meter functionalities like the recording of readings, loading of tokens, switching on after loadshedding etc can be affected.

The information above is applicable in general.  We would however love to review and comment on your account specifically.

To enable us to do so we would however need either an account number or the unit address as we cannot find an account on our system with details that matches yours.  Kindly provide that as soon as possible so that we can urgently attend to it?

Kind regards

Thank you for the response. I do understand the effects loadshedding had. But does it really have to take 9+ hours to fix the problem? Loadshedding isn't a new occurance in South Africa. How is there not an established a system to pick up on faulty meters or tokens not generating so that you can attend to the problem as soon as it happens? I will reply privately with my information.
