The worst hotel nightmare ever at Protea Hotels

It is now four months since I had a bad experience with the Cumberland Protea Hotel in Worcestor. I have written to the National Protea hotel head office as well as the International office but my complaint has simply been ignored. As a Prokard member, I was promised to receive excellent service when booking in at any of their hotels but the Cumberland hotel was the worst hotel experience ever after booking in for a 40th wedding anniversary and birthday celebration. The promises made by the reception was not kept and the rooms provided when we arrived was not acceptable due to the musty smell in the entire hotel and the rooms as well as no view or space as was requested and discussed. We had to travel back to Cape Town and postponed our celebration to another venue at a later time. I would advise against Prokard membership or ties with this hotel group and would rather prefer guest houses where you get better value for your money as well as the best guest service.
