****** AT PROTEA HOTEL, SEAPOINT, CAPETOWN

<p>We would have had a memorable holiday in capetown if it wasnt for the choice of hotel we stayed at. On one of our 5 days in cape town me and my friend visited beautiful franschhoek and bought 2 wine bottles as souvenirs for family from one of the vineyards we visited. This was on a Saturday and we were to check out on a Monday from PROTEA SEAPOINT. We locked all belongings in our suitcases except for the wine bottles that were in a gift box and left the room to be cleaned while we went out on the Sunday. Come monday we both packed and checked assuming the other one had the wine bottles, only to realize that neither of us had them. We chased the hotel to look into this because we distinctly remember not seeing them in the room on Sunday evening. My friend assumed I kept them and I assumed she kept them as we were busy packing Sunday evening. To our absolute horror we realized that we had been ******!! The two bottles were for ZAR 440 and yes they were a special gift and a loss but the actual trauma is that we felt extremely unsafe and vulnerable AFTER REALIZING WHAT HAD HAPPENED. We complained strongly and gave them time to investigate as they insisted on it and requested us not to write a review until the investigation was done. We checked out on the 25th of April, as of today we have received 2 follow up calls and haven't heard from anyone after the 29th of April!! Both calls lame and they only apologized and said they were still investigating. The horror of staying in a property where someone can come and go into your room and ***** your stuff!! Thank God we locked some our valuables in the locker. This review is not about the value of our loss, its about how vulnerable we feel and how our trust was broken and we paid them to take care of us and they ended up robbing us!!! The worst thing is after requesting us to not write a review and wait for investigation results we havent heard from them since the 29th of April!!!</p>
