Resstaurant not living up to expectations

After studying the menu a week before visiting the restaurant my wife and I were extremely impressed by the wonderful descriptions of the meals offered at the hotel. We had just enjoyed a great cup of coffee during our first visit in the morning and found the staff friendly and the setting to be beautiful. So, we made a reservation for a Saturday night and expected that the food would live up to the propaganda. We knew it was going to be pricy, but did not expect such a raw deal. I chose from the African menu to experience the local flavours, but when only two tables****fuls of samp and chakalaka with an equal amount of spinach was served with four bones of oxtail, I was barely able to taste anything. Hardly an African serving! My wife was similarly disappointed. She asked for salad with her steak, but the salad was barely noticeable. It appeared to be garnishing. Furthermore her steak was the toughest piece of meat she had ever eaten. Our waiter was also absent the whole time and neglected to bring the drinks we ordered. It was also pointless raising any complaint to him. We left feeling thoroughly done in and undertook that it would be our last visit to this hotel.
