Protea Hotel Fire and Ice (Gateway / KZN)

The Protea Hotel Fire and Ice (in Umhlanga KZN) is sadly a chaotic, disorganized and aggressive environment in all areas and aspects.

It is clear no position of management manages the lobby, (Over bearing) concierges, the dining areas and the lift (with the service lift being out of order whilst staff not giving way but rather competing with hotel guests). The cleaning staff half make the beds in the morning and abruptly return in the evening to put on the rest of the linen on such as pillow cases - however we slept without them last night.

The staff this morning (on Christmas) were especially a special treat. Waking-up this morning I was made very aware that it was Christmas with the staff aggressively snapping MERRY CHRISTMAS to me as if how dare I do not acknowledge, greet and wish them.

By the way, I do NOT celebrate Christmas and I am not accustomed to yelling merry wishes at every passing person. Nor was I aware that the purpose of my morning would be to go out of my way to acknowledge, greet and wish every all the hotel staff.

Most importantly instead of the staff directing their obvious resentment (towards their jobs I suppose or working on Christmas?), rather than taking my aloofness seriously, they can apply some manners, greet their guests and wish them as they like - I would be more than happy to return the love.

P.S Breakfast was a disgraceful mess today.
