Prokard - what a *******
Not only is this one of the only hotel reward programs that you actually have to pay for, but there are so many restrictions on when you can redeem the vouchers that it is of almost no value. And you've already paid for it!!
Basically every hotel/date I tried to book for said there was no availability for that deal, even though there was plenty of room in the hotel. I understand that they allocate a very limited number of nights at the hotels for the redemption of the vouchers.
If the voucher was free I would understand, but in this case I paid more than the night stay at the hotel in the first place. What a bad decision!
Furthermore, after the change to Marriot I had all of my Prokard Rands expire at only a couple of months notice. I really feel like I have been ********.
And needless to say the guest relations manager didn't get back to me as agreed :(
As someone who has stayed more than 100 nights in Protea Hotels it is very sad that I now have such a bad taste in my mouth.
Dear Michael,
I trust this email finds you well and thank you for taking the time to forward your feedback and frustrations.
As per Prokard Terms and Conditions, complimentary accommodation is granted on a first come, first served basis. All hotels have a limited number of rooms available each month for this benefit. At certain hotels, due to high demand and at the discretion of the hotel's management, complimentary accommodation may not be granted over public holidays, school holidays or during any major sporting event, festival or peak period. Certain hotels may only accept complimentary accommodation reservations during the week or over weekends.
Please contact our Central Reservations so that we can assist in walking you through the booking process.
With regards to your Prokard points, mass email correspondence was sent to all Prokard members over a period of nearly two years informing all our Valued members that Prokard points will no longer exist.
Should you not have been able to use your points, we then transfered the points to your new Marriott Rewards membership.
Kind Regards,
