Most expensively disgusting dinner I’ve ever had

The Hotel was beautiful, staff were friendly, service was perfect. But this is with regard to the Hotel and its staff, not the restaurant within.

The restaurant was honestly a disaster from the get-go...here’s why:

•Milkshakes were great and the one starter we had, among the many basic looking/tasting starters we’d ordered, called the Mushroom Cloud or something similar-sounding was a delicious new experience for our palettes...those are about the only nice things I can say about this place.

•We called in to the restaurant, the previous morning, to book and there wasn’t any booking made when we got there. •Food took FOREVER to come to our table so when we had issues with our meals, of which we had MULTIPLE, we had to take into consideration that if we sent our food back, we’d have to wait almost an hour to get something new. •All Our steaks were Well Done, even though we asked for Medium Rare which was very hard to get down, seeing as the steaks were thick and pieces of meat kept getting stuck in our teeth which is why our hands basically had to alternate between holding forks and toothpicks •The Prawns were mushy and left a bad taste in the mouth •A guest of ours ordered something called ‘Jaws’ and they requested a Lamb patty. They got their burger and she said that there was something off about it...the burger smelt as if it wasn’t cooked even though it was and the smell was so off putting that she ate less than half the burger before she decided to just get full on the milkshakes WHICH WERE R60 PER GLASS for the large shakes. •The food was NOT WORTH THE PRICE paid •Even though we paid so much for the food, we weren’t really bothered with finishing it because of how bad it was. We actually took the food home and threw it away a few days ago because we weren’t up for putting ourselves through the pain of consuming such nonsense. •The beverages were shockingly expensive...as in we had to pay R30 per 500ml bottle of water, which doesn’t cost more than R7 in a regular store, and R40 for a regular sized glass of PassionFruit&Lemonade.

PLEASE, if you’re conscious about how you spend your money, this place is not for you and if you expect to get quality for the amount you paid, this restaurant will not provide it in large quantities.

I researched this place for a dinner for my 21st and even though there were numerous reviews which brought up the fact that this establishment’s offerings weren’t all up to par, I decided to go there and should’ve realised at the very beginning, when they didn’t have my reservation, that it would be disastrous.

the milkshakes were okay though, I guess I could’ve bought myself 2 Oreo McFlurry’s and been content with my life so far but I guess I thought that people were being over-dramatic...

We ended up going to McDonald’s after supper, at around 10pm and got ourselves a whole lot of food, get the ShareBox people, they’re definitely WORTH IT.
