Disappointing service

We planned a weekend away for my husband’s birthday to African pride Irene lodge and we received such disappointing service. I spoke to one of the staff members to help me plan a surprise picnic for my husband which is something they advertised that they offer. I took my time to go through the details I f what I wanted only to get a big fat disappointment. When we arrived at the picnic stop on the agreed time I found nothing! I had to go and enquire about it and they asked us to wait while they set it up, which I was understanding enough to let them do because I had a certain expectation from what they had advertised and the extras I asked.

After a good 20 minutes of waiting we arrived to flimsy extra small blanket and a crate of food in boxes whereas I had asked for a romantic setup with rose petals.

To say I was highly disappointed is putting it mildly as it was supposed to be a surprise for my husband. We spoke to the manager on the day of the departure and after we raised our concerns about the service we got she offered us a voucher for a romantic dinner which was also a BIG FAT DISAPPOINTMENT!!

On arrival on the day of the dinner no ONE knew anything about our reservation let alone the romantic dinner. We had to settle for an ordinary buffet.

I am utterly disgusted by the service we got for such a beautiful establishment. During breakfast they served hard rock toast and I’m not even exaggerating. Some of the slices had moulds. How anyone could have decided that such bread was ok to be served is beyond me.

I take birthday’s very personal and I must they African pride Irene lodge managed to make a mockery out of it. I took my time to try and plan for the surprise and it never happened, they offered us a romantic dinner to make up for it and it also never happened. After we took time and effort to even dress for the occasion.
