Prosperitas - not so good and kind as they make out to be!

I have just experienced very poor "service"!

I put "service" in parentheses as it was not I who was served. The story goes like this:

On Saturday 22nd April I was called by a lady from their offices, looking for my wife. She explained that my wife had been listed due to outstanding school fees. The child in question is the child of her ex-husband, about 10yrs old, born out of a union approximately 12-13 years after their divorce in 2000.

The only "contactability" connection they could make between the child and my wife was the fact that for many years, she and the child's father had the same surname. The e-mail address and two telephone (mobile) numbers they used for the notifications have never been associated with my wife. Clearly their due diligence was not that diligent, or up to any standard to say the least. They simply listed her with TransUnion without making sure they had the right person. Very poor indeed!

My wife had to send them a signed statement declaring that she is NOT in fact related in any way to the child. They have acknowledged to me that this is an error on their part and are willing to make a written apology and have commenced the process with TransUnion to "delist" my wife. However, the damage is already done for my wife as she has already checked and finds that she already has this mark against her name.

I find this level of work extremely shoddy and inexcusable.

I have requested they speed up this process but the supervisor I spoke to is extremely rude. I have mailed them requesting again, and apology as well as an affidavit stating that the listing was an error on their part. I will see if this yields any fruit.

Follow-up...

I received a mail this afternoon from their Call Centre Manager, who I think I spoke to yesterday afternoon (the rude one), with confirmation that my wife has been "delisted" with TransUnion and an apology for the inconvenience. However no affidavit as requested. I responded, asking about this and she refuses saying the mail and apology will suffice.

Unfortunately, having been listed and then removed, only indicates that you have corrected your default on any debt (the reason why you had been listed in the first place) - hence this remains an indelible mark on your record. And for this reason I require the statement where Prosperitas acknowledges their error in the listing in the first place. This should be the least they could do?

Anyway - I am adamant in what I desire as retribution for their terrible due diligence!
