I am very disappointed with the service I received from Proshots, the official photographers at the National Gymnastics Championships currently taking place in Centurion. My 12-year-old granddaughter participated in the last session of the day, which concluded around 10:00 p.m. We, as a family, were there to support her, including a very tired 5-year-old. I was eager to buy some professional photos of her performance, but the process was completely impractical. At that late hour, I had to search for her photos on a poorly lit display board containing hundreds—possibly over a thousand—photos, which made it nearly impossible to identify the right ones. Unsurprisingly, I couldn’t manage to find her photos in those conditions. Now, I’m told that I have to order online at double the price (R70 per photo on site and R150 for the same photo online), even though their shop is in the same area where I live. This feels extremely unfair to customers who were present and wanted to support their children and grandchildren on the night. When I tried to explain my situation to Mr. Johann Sheppard, whose name appears on their website, I was met with no understanding or sympathy whatsoever. His dismissive attitude made it very clear that he was “too busy” to care. This experience was deeply disappointing and left me with a very negative impression of Proshots’ customer service. A bit of empathy and flexibility would have gone a long way.
