DANGEROUS and ***********: Victoria Court Apartments - A Nightmare Stay in Cape Town
We booked to stay in one of the PROPRs Cape Town "Luxury" Apartments. It was completely horrible:
Accommodation Disaster Overview: What should have been a family vacation turned into a traumatic ordeal of negligence, potential safety risks, and complete operational failure. From the moment of booking to check-in, every interaction was a cascade of frustrations that compromised our safety and destroyed our travel experience.
Critical Failures:
Parking Promises vs. Reality Advertised two parking spots on booking.com Upon arrival, ZERO accessible parking Forced to park multiple blocks away in high-crime downtown Cape Town One parking remote non-functional Required elaborate, dangerous workarounds just to park a rental car
Check-In Process: A Model of Incompetence Initially told early check-in was impossible Suddenly pressured to arrive early without clear communication 5-HOUR check-in process that was psychologically and physically exhausting Staff completely unprepared and untrained First-time check-in agent unable to resolve basic issues
Safety Concerns Guests left vulnerable in high-crime urban area 73-year-old family member subjected to extreme stress Multiple instances of potential street harassment Wife nearly had her phone ****** during this ordeal No management support or safety protocols
Communication Breakdown 8 phone calls with ZERO management response WhatsApp messages ignored for hours Threats about key liability instead of addressing serious concerns Complete absence of customer service YOU WILL NOT EVER GET TO SPEAK TO A MANAGER, you will be left alone to sort out your problems. They simply do not care
Vacation Destruction Lost 2 out of 4 vacation days waiting for resolution Constant uncer*****y and stress Forced to remain in accommodation waiting for basic services
Professional Assessment: As a documented incident by a university professor, this represents a systematic failure not just of one property, but potentially a broader issue with booking platforms' vetting processes. Strongest Recommendations:
AVOID this property at ALL COSTS Report to Booking.com for immediate review Demand full refund and compensation Consider legal consultation for potential negligence
A Stay That Epitomizes Hospitality Malpractice: Dangerous, Unprofessional, and Unacceptable.
