Seventeen years later, and they still stand behind their work

Proport built a balcony enclosure for us 17 years ago. It worked well without any problems until the recent severe storm damaged it. I phoned Johann, one of the co-owners who was involved in the original construction, not really expecting much — what company remembers a job from that long ago? The response was very welcoming. The very next day Christiaan, the other co-owner and production manager, visited the site, and this at a time when they were clearly very busy with storm repairs all over the Cape. He knew exactly what was needed and immediately proposed a proper engineering solution rather than a quick patch. Despite their workload he found us a slot, and in less than two weeks a team of four arrived and finished the whole job in three days. Everything was exactly as promised: they arrived on time every morning, kept the site tidy, and kept me informed about every step of the work. While the work progressed, Christiaan found the time to visit the site again, and when I suggested strengthening the structure further, he responded very positively and the team then carried this out exceptionally well. Special thanks to the foreman, Marius, who was hands-on throughout and made a number of good suggestions that improved the quality of the repair. A company that responds like this to a structure they built 17 years ago is rare. They call themselves "The Enclosure People" — deservedly so. Highly recommended.
