Multiple broken fixtures - 4 MONTHS for deposit refund

To whom it may concern: I would like to bring the following matter to the attention of any person/s who might consider making use of services provided by Property Legends relating to realty and property. I shall be making references to a specific person, Charles Bailey. A certain estate agent (whom I shall not mention, since I do not believe any of this was his wrong-doing), showed me a property for rent in Rietfontein, Pretoria. I was told that absolutely nothing can go forward until they receive my deposit for said property. I had made a plan quickly to lend money from my father (as I was told there were many parties interested in this specific property) to secure my spot. I paid the deposit within a day, specifically 4 February 2015. My rent was NEVER ever late. When I was contacted about renewing my contract in January 2016, I was told there would be an increase to the rent (as can be expected of course). My response was that I would have to talk to my dad first about this since he helped me financially at that time, and said that I would get back to Property Legends before the end of January 2016 (since I still had some time to decided – approximately 1 month). I had also mentioned to Charles that there are still many broken fixtures (list to follow) and that it would only be fair to have such fixtures finally fixed after more 8 months of BEGGING Property Legends to do so (I have kept record of all such e-mails). Much to my surprise and exactly one day after this discussion with Charles, I received a Termination of Lease Agreement notice informing me to vacate the premises and that the owner does not wish to renew my contract and that I was to vacate the premises within 1 month – ladies and gentlemen, this is not the standard, given this circumstance, one is allowed 2 months notice. Though much surprised, I did not object and began scouting for a new apartment to rent. I was told NOT to assume that my deposit is payment for my last month’s rent by Charles Bailey, and since I am honest person and a person of my word, I paid my last month’s rent in February 2016. The date today is 4 May 2016 and I have just received my deposit from Property Legends, and also NOT in the amount agreed upon. Charles had informed me that interest was accumulated in this time from paying the deposit to receiving the deposit back, however he was unable to provide me with the particulars thereof. I would NEVER in my life ever recommend Property Legends to anyone at all. Charles is the most dishonest person I have ever had the discomfort of meeting. He constantly **** to me and was constantly putting off refunding my deposit. To be exact, it took Property Legends 4 MONTHS to refund my deposit. I cannot understand the reason behind his manners and from what I understand there are other individuals whom have encountered similar issues with Property Legends. Therefor, I believe it is my duty to make people aware of Property Legends as I would never want anyone else to face the same 4 month struggle as I did. I was lucky to have an attorney help me out in this matter, and I can tell you that Charles Bailey does not stand down to anyone. He simply shrugged off my requests and multiple pleadings for my refund of deposit. I cannot imagine that one would ever successfully retrieve your deposit should you attempt to face Property Legends alone. So, if you are in the same/similar circumstance as I am with Property Legends, I invite you to e-mail me *** I have saved all my e-mails and photographs regarding the condition of the property when I moved in (there was not bathroom cabinet – I purchased one and mounted it myself), there was no grass or trees or plants (as I sign of good faith I had left those there, but that had no bearing on the dishonest façade of Charles Bailey). Best regards Talana
