Pay back My Deposit

I had to cancel my lease with Propertuity due to unexpected circumstances, yes given it was a few days early but the management approved it and promised I would get my deposit back. I did as my contract had instructed me to do I had was compliant with their demands to the latter. Now that its time to pay my deposit back I am being told to pay for the remaining days of the lease oh by the way they are the ones who said I owe them nothing and my deposit would be paid back on the Wednesday. For people who own luxury apartments they are ****** all I want is my money back how is it that I as the tenant gets harassed and locked out even when I don't owe them yet now that they must give me my money they can do things like this.
