What is happening to my car?

4 weeks ago, my car was broken into with the intent to ***** my car (A VW Polo Vivo).

The steering colomn, cpu, driver side door lock and a couple fuses were damaged in the process.

I asked my insurer not to send the car to Renew-It as I have had terrible service from them.

So my car gets sent to Proline, which is a member of Renew-it.

Once a week I get an sms and then a couple days later a call to tell me at which stage of repair my car is at. Last week Wednesday, I get told that its in quality assessment (stage 5/5) and I ask will it be ready by Friday, the response 'Yes'.

Friday comes, I call them and they say maybe I will get Monday probably Tuesday.

Today, I get a call from them again saying that my car is quality assessment. I let the agent finish their scripted part of the call, and say "Last week you said that, so I please ensure that I am able to pick my car this afternoon" (Since how much is there to assess), the agent says they will try organise it, and will call me back later.

A couple hours later, they call, the agent says "Sorry sir, it appears that your car is in assembly(stage 3/5), and it will not be ready today."

Now I am getting annoyed, Proline has had my car for nearly a month, for one of the most common types of attacks. on one of most common cars, with the parts being easy to source (At best you can tell me the steering colomn needs to be sourced). So I calmly say, "Let me just sort somethings out this side, and I will get back to you".

I contact my mother, who is the insurance holder, and explain. Half an hour later the agent calls me and says "Your car will be ready this afternoon, you just need to pay the R3k excess on collection". I conclude the call.

An hour later I called them, to try and get some payment details, and for the past half an hour, I will get to reception, get forwarded, and the call dies.

Why is it that this even has to happen. Why is Proline lying about where my car is in the repair process.
