Proline aand their ********* behaviour
My vehicle was involved in a collision on Sunday, 19 May 2019 and was towed to Proline Autobody Wynberg the same day. My car was eventually repaired and ready for collection on or around the 14 June 2019. However, I could not collect my vehicle on or around the 14 May 2019 and arranged to collect my vehicle on 25 May 2019, which I successfully did. On the day of collection, there was a problem with the wheel alignment of my car and I returned the vehicle on that same day to have the wheel alignment corrected. This was already a red alert to me as I could not understand how my car was claimed to be repaired, yet when I collected my vehicle and procced to go home, there was a horrible sound emitting from the car. The mechanic who fixed the problem when I returned the vehicle on the 25 May 2019 told me it was a wheel alignment problem. Did nobody bother to test drive my vehicle to make sure everything was 100%? Nevertheless, the problem was fixed. However, within the first week of having my vehicle, I am noticed a few problems, which is very worrying since my vehicle is brand new (OD Meter is now at 4100KM). The problems I noticed: 1. Rattling noises emitting from the bonnet of my car. It almost sound as if there are parts there are lose or not correctly secured. This was not the case when I first got my car. 2. The engine of my car sounds louder than usual, especially when I start my vehicle or even when I am driving. Many of my friends admired my car because of the quietness, now my car sounds like a diesel car/track! 3. My car feels slower and it lags. I am experiencing a jerking sensation, especially when I accelerate or slow down. 4. Whenever I use the AC, a horrible smell gets emitted from the fan. 5. Two days after I collected my vehicle, a ‘coolant error’ was displayed on the dashboard screen. Upon investigation, I found that the coolant level of my car was below normal and hence the error message. I had to buy coolant and refill the coolant. I find this very suspicious as on the full quotation and repair report I received from Proline, it states that the coolant/anti-freeze was ordered and replaced. So how is it that I had to buy anti-freeze when it was supposedly replaced? I am extremely unhappy with all these problems I am experiencing, more so since it is a brand new car! When my car was taken to Proline Autobody, it had an odometer reading of 422, so I am confused as to why I am experiencing all these issues. I never experienced them before my accident. I have been in contact with Proilne Autobody Wynberg and they asked me to bring in the car so that they can fix their mess. I explained to them that I work in Pretoria and live in JHB so it won’t be possible or that I can bring it in on the weekend. I am a researcher and therefore my line of work is unpredictable. I thought I was imagining all these problems but my car is getting worse. There is a constant squeaking sound coming from the front of my car whenever I drive. The sound gets worse when I brake or take a turn. I suspect foul play on my vehicle, as there is no way I can be experiencing all these problems, especially all the engine problems! I read through the full quotation and repair report I was sent and as far as I understand (taking into consideration I am not a car mechanic), there was no damage to the engine and thus no repairs. Yet I am experiencing problems as mentioned above. I suspect foul play and ********* conduct. I will be informing my insurance and suggest that they don’t use Proline Autobody. And I will be taking legal action!!!!! There is no way I will be paying every month for a brand new car that drives like a second-hand piece of nonsense.
