PROFMED DISAPPOINTMENT

I am writing this review with great distain. I have just gone through the most terrible process with Profmed.

I have not claimed for anything like the prosthesis I am claiming for now and when I really need my medical aid- they have let me down. They only cover R55 000 per year per family for prosthesis, when a medical aid like Discovery covers almost R200 000 for the same level of plan I am on with Profmed!!!!! Profmed was made aware that the procedure was a two-stage procedure and yet only offer a mere R55 000 despite the doctor providing a sufficient motivation.

I have to now cancel my much-needed procedure that would have given me better quality of life because of Profmed’s terrible coverage.

Then I get told that I can “Appeal” the decision to just cover the minimum but I run the risk of having the R55 000 already granted withdrawn!!! How can they make that threat to their members.

I will be changing medical aids! Profmed is supposed to be the medical aid for professionals but their coverage is so pathetic!!

I have been with Profmed since I was an article clerk and I am very disappointed.
