Medical Aid for professional idiots

So apparently Promed has never had a situation where a mother can be financially dependent on their children. My mother lost her work in April 2023 and only managed to get permanent work in December 2023 where she is earning 10% of what she earned previously. We could not afford the medical aid as it was a choice between having a roof over our heads or having medical aid. Since my mother got work in December we tried to add her as a dependent on my medical aid. I just received the phone call saying Profmed can not add my mother as a dependent and even more they will however give her, her own medical aid but with the 3 month condition and 12 month condition on an operation she is desperately in need of since last year, when she still was an active member of Profmed. This is absolutely absurd to me, you pay medical aid your whole life and when life throws you a curve ball, they see the opportunity to get rid of you, when you need them the most.
