DISSATISFIED PROFMED CLIENT
I decided to join Profmed in November 2024. I request that my commencement date be 01/02/2025, as my current medical aid would be terminating on 31/01/2025. Profmed debited my account for contributions on 01/01/2025 ********ly and without my consent, as the contributions should have been debited on 01/02/2025. I requested a refund of the amount debited and was requested to furnish them with a bank statement to confirm that the contributions were debited. I forwarded them my bank statements, however, I elected not to show the balances, as this is confidential information. A week later I received an email requesting a clear bank statement. I called the customer services department and after being put on hold for 9 minutes, the consultant advised that they require my bank statement reflecting the balances to determine that there were sufficient funds in my bank account for the debit order to have been processed. Being a long standing client of PPS with membership in excess of 20 years, with not a single default in contributions, the request by Profmed as stated above is absurd.
