Chronic Medication Registration - almost 3 weeks and still not finalised

I phoned the Profmed call centre in mid-July to enquire about the process about registering for chronic medication. The call centre agent informed me that I must go to the pharmacy to register.

Dischem was very helpful in assisting with this and contacted Profmed to register me for chronic medication. Dischem was then informed that lung function tests are required to process my application. The call centre agent thus did not give me the correct information from the start.

I sent through my lung function tests on the 27th of June 2016, and was contacted by Mauriza Swart on the 29th of June, who again requested my lung function tests. I resent these again. After this, I was contacted by Mauriza Swart no the 3rd of July to request the date of diagnosis. I sent this through on the 4th of July. Following this, I have not heard back from Profmed. I have sent another mail to follow up on the 11th of July, but have still not heard back from Profmed.

I indicated from the start that I urgently need this medication, It has now been nearly three weeks, and my chronic medication registration has still not been finalised.

We used to be with Discovery, and all our claims were handled professionally and promptly, by an excellent call centre. This is our first real interaction with Profmed since joining the medical scheme, and our experience has been rather unpleasant. One would have expected more from a medical aid for professionals.

I trust that you will speedily finalise this matter.

There seemed to be a problem with my email address and Profmed speedily assisted me by resending the information.
