BE AWARE!

Be aware of Profiles in William Moffett. (I see that the reviews on here are the same or similar experience that I had today! - 25th October 2021).

I joined Profiles at the beginning of the year (a 6 month contract). I paid upfront for February and continued with my debit order in March. A month after the expiration of my 6th month contract, in August, I received an email from Profiles which threatened to hand me over as I did not pay for a month in February. I immediately phoned Profiles and spoke to the person in charge of the admin (Carol - Ann Minnie). She wouldn’t even give me a chance to speak after I stated what I was phoning about and kept speaking over me. After begging her to listen to me and explaining my side, she realized she was in the wrong! Not. Even. An. Apology!

That’s not all…

I decided to give Profiles a second chance as I’m not a person who holds grudges.. I signed another 6 month contract on 4th October 2021 and I was told that I can just pay the pro rata for what’s left of this month, which is R216.00 (my monthly contract fee is R320.00). Today (25th October 2021) my contract monthly fee of R320.00 debit order came off. I would assume if you choose to pay at the beginning of the month, you’d pay for the month ahead, but if you choose to pay at the end of the month, then you’d pay for the month that has just ended. I went in to speak to Carol - Ann again (instead of dealing with another rude telephonic conversation) and she had the exact same attitude! Never let me speak, half heartedly greeted me. I actually asked her if I could rather speak to someone else in charge. Chantel came down and had the same attitude. Told me that they will not refund me as this debit order counts as the month ahead and not the month that just passed by. (Again, I would assume that you’d pay for the month that just passed by at the end of the month and not pay at the end of the month for the following month).

Anyway, I let them have their R320.00 as well as the 65% of whatever is due for the rest of my contract along with the signed letter to state that I’m cancelling my 6 month contract.

I would have been happy to let them keep the R320.00 and I would have continued gyming at Profiles if they had explained everything to me in a nice way, but their “friendly service and family atmosphere” is not what it is made out to be!
