Pro Shades - Poor Service and Poor Quality patio blinds

I am not someone to complain quickly, but my experience with Pro Shades has left me utterly frustrated and horribly angry!

We had patio shades installed in April 2014. We were given a 5 year warranty, and were told that the blinds will be good for at least 10 years. This was when we had our first complaint as the clear windows on the new blinds were full of scratches and looked like they were old and warn, after which they came to remove the blinds and replaced it with new window inserts.

In 2015 we had to replace 3 of the bolts on the side mounts as they kept ripping out the wall at any sign of a breeze.

Towards the end of 2016 we noticed that the blinds kept pulling away from the velcro and it got worse as the Cpt winds got worse. In January after returning from a few days leave, the blinds were totally ineffective. The velcro did not stick to any of the strips and one of the blinds had shrunken so badly that it couldn't even reach the wall fittings any longer. Due to the shrinkage, the door zips had also broken. Furthermore the pulley hooks on the blinds were bent due to poor quality and daily wear and tear. Take note that the blinds are 2 and half years old only.

I took photos and video clips and sent an email to Victor, a/the business owner to my understanding; describing all of the above and requesting him to come out to view for himself, and to replace since the blinds were still within the warranty period.

He didn't respond to my email.

I then whatsapp'd him to explain the situation and shared the pictures and video clips with him on whatsapp. After much back and forth messaging, he made arrangements to come and remove the blinds. His team was at our house 3 times, and not once did he join them - and I requested this each time and he confirmed each time on whatsapp that he would come. He simply did not care to excuse himself.

I made it clear to him that we expect a quality product, and that he needed to replace the blinds as 'extending' them would only result in untidy and patchy blinds.

To our surprise, we have been left with the old blinds. They have been extended (sewed extra pieces on) to cover up for the shrinkage. The colours differ, the stitching is horrificly bad, the window inserts have been scratched so badly it actually looks like they dragged it over gravel! They ran out of white velcro so then replaced half of the one side mount with cream velcro. Our patio looks SO bad :( I cannot believe that people can actually walk away from a poor job like this and be proud of themselves or their product! I am attaching the pictures and videos hereto.

To add insult to injury, Victor has still not had the decency to reply to any of my emails (I sent 4!) He simply does not care.

Pro Shades were affordable when we were looking to buy blinds in 2014. I'm not sure what their prices are like now, but I highly recommend that you rather go elsewhere and pay the extra few bucks if need be. This has been an extremely stressful, disapointing and inconvenient experience.

And so we still wait for resolution..

Subsequently they offered to replace the 2 side blinds at no cost.
