Animal Grooming

We would like to bring the following to your attention.

On 29 November 2022 two groomers from Pro Grooming The Reeds trimmed my French Poodle Stellie. When the groomers put her down after the grooming session, it was clear that Stellie could not put her right back leg down. The groomers said that the leg is only "sleeping" due to the position they held her during the grooming. After a while Stellie could still not put her leg down. I then took her to the Veterinary hospital Bakenkop, 1 caper Avenue, Eldoraigne X3, Centurion. Diagnosis : Lameness (RH). If the problem persists, then I should go back to the Vet for further treatment. The problem persists therefor Xrays were taken and an operation had to follow. See attached documentation, as well as invoices from Bakenkop Animal Clinic.

After numerous attempts, we can not get the owner of Pro Grooming to come to the table. See messages below sent via FB, as the owner will not give us an email address, neither does he answer whatsapp messages. He gave me a website address, which takes me to a business registered in the UK, named Pro Grooming. Did the owner ***** the UK company's name??? We don't even know who the owner of the SA Pro Grooming company's name is, as he would not tell.

We spoke to various business people and they told us that Pro Grooming should have insurance to cover then for any accidents, caused by their staff, groomers, whatsoever. Could you please be so kind as to help us with this incident and to prevent other customers to get caught with the same experiences. A plain grooming is costing me now R14000.00!!

Mrs Luus Sarie Luus After my dog Stellie was trimmed by two "professionals" from Pro Grooming, it appeared that she couldn't stand on her right rear leg when they put her down on the ground. I called the two "professionals" back to show them that Stellie can not stand on her leg. They then said her leg was in a sleeping mode because they held her in one position for the duration of the grooming. For a good diagnose I took Stellie to Bakenkop Animal Veternary, where Xrays were taken, and the following diagnosis were documented by the Specialist : Post op Right Femur Head and Neck Amputation due to Traumatic luxation of the hip joint. An operation had to follow to save Stellie's leg. In the meantime we tried to communicate to Pro Grooming, via whatsapp, celphone, ect. Certain messages were totally ignored. We asked for their Website address to pick up an email address, which was first ignored and then a wrong website address were forwarded. I logged into the Website address sent by Pro Grooming (we don't know who we are dealing with, as no name was given to us) and found that the website given refers to a company in the UK. I asked Pro Grooming if they are part of that company, still awaiting an answer. Pro Grooming refuses to accept any responsibility for the trauma and accident caused by them. We refer the Xrays and diagnosis to various Veternary hospitals and they were all of the same conclusion. So far the whole treatment of Stellie costs me R14000.00. We tried to get Pro Grooming to come to the table, but with no avail. WE URGE YOU ALL TO PLEASE BE AWARE OF WHAT IS REALLY GOING ON. MY NEXT STEP IS TO GO TO CUSTOMER CONSUMER COMMISSION TO PUT ALL THIS ON THE TABLE. IF PRO GROOMING CANT EVEN TELL US WHOM WE DEAL WITH, OR COMMUNICATE PROPERLY (NO EMAIL ADDRESS AVAILABLE) IT LEAVES US WITH NO OTHER ALTERNATIVE. Poor Stellie had to have another hip operation yesterday (30 December 2022), had to go through all the trauma again.!!!! DOES Pro Grooming REALLY CARE FOR ANIMALS, OR IS IT ALL FOR MONEY?????
