We paid a 60% deposit to Pro Garden Route Landscaping & Projects, in December 2025 for landscaping work scheduled to start in January 2026. Despite several agreed start dates and repeated assurances, the work never commenced. š© After ongoing delays, we requested a refund. A repayment was acknowledged, but no funds were received and no proof of payment was ever provided - even though requested. š© The owner, Schalk "Schalla" Spies, even went as far as claiming that he was on the phone with the bank's ***** department as the money had left his account but not landed in ours... š© A civil case is now open under case number SCC26/2026 and is part of the public record. There have also been issues with service due to disputed address details - surprise, surprise. š© We also tried to share our experience through reviews but were blocked from the page, and some feedback appears to have been removed. š© This whole ordeal has left an incredibly bad taste in our mouth. We had to pay another contractor to actually begin the project, too. ā ļø He offers multiple services beyond the landscaping - firewood, transport services, cleaning services, farm food deliveries, etc. All conveniently where you don't know his physical address. ā ļø Everything shared here is backed by invoices, correspondence, payment records, and court documents.
