I enrolled my son for a Firefighter course in 2024 with PRO ETHNOS FIRE & RESCUE ACADEMY to do Firefighter 1&2 and Hazmat, an international qualification that was registered through SAESI. It cost me R60k. At the very end of his course, I was informed that PRO ETHNOS 'lost' its accreditation with SAESI. I was told by Jurie van Staden (PRO ETHNOS) that he will ensure that my son still receives his certification and we were waiting to be informed of exam dates. I kept on enquiring about dates, and my son kept on studying to be ready to write, but eventually all communication from PRO ETHONS' side just stopped. I wrote to SAESI explaining the situation, but they did not seem to care. When my son applies for jobs, he is not accepted as he does not have a certificate of completion and I also receive comments about PRO ETHNOS. I tried my best to resolve this issue amicably, but I am heartbroken about the money and time that I now have nothing to show for. I also cannot afford to pay this money again to another institution.
