PERSONAL INFO REQUESTED PLACES OWNERS AT RISK

As appointed property manager I handle the rental department for a private owner. I decided to start using Private Property with our listings. I supp**** all info on the ad required and photo's. The add was send for review. On 17 March I received the following email message: Comments: We need to verify the ownership of the property you want to activate. Please reply to this email with the ID number of the owner, alternatively call us on *** and quote your PPL Ref to activate your listing. I promptly acted as requested and send the owner ID number. Today being 18 March I receive the following message: Kindly provide us with the owner's contact details so we can confirm permission to list the property. Giving out personal info as such over emails??? Surely they do not consider the safety of giving out personal info to an unknown person. How many people has been de*****ed and info used by ********. How can you at all expect of people to still think your platform is a safe way of advertising. We will rather revert back to our old means of advertising and still get tenants, than feeling unsave by giving out so much info. What your company and workers believe is convenient for you, is just as convenient for ********, hackers and identity *******.
