***** FALSE LISTED RENTAL
This is more of awareness.I have been searching for property to rent in Centurion. Came across web ref RR957125. was appropriate for me and liaised with the landlord and paid the landlord an amount of R8750 for dep, registration and to reinstall geyser in the unit which came from the partial Nov rent owing. Suspicions come across and I decided to check with the estate if the property is vacant and to find out I have been ****med. I have reported a case of *****. Please be on the look out for Bayanda Noyila ***. His contact details *** *** ***. Banking details B Noyila ABSA *** 632005 I would like this to be further investigated. Also, is there some insurance that I can put a claim to for loss. I would like feedback on investigations. This is a serious case as I trusted private property to be a trusted site to look for rentals.
It is an unfortunate that this has happened to you.
At Private Property we make every effort to validate the ownership of the properties listed for the first time by a landlord. As part of this process we request an ID number and we match this to Deeds Office data. In the absence of a match we request a letter from an Attorney indicating that the transfer is being transacted. This protocol was followed in this instance, however we were supp**** with ********** documentation. Further to this we cannot do more to protect the interests of the Browsers who engage with the owners of the listings on our website.
We go beyond this to inform the public through published articles on our blog relating to the potential pitfalls to watch out for when transacting with a Private Landlord.
This is a ******** act which now needs to be investigated by the Police. We are happy to assist where possible. Do know that this client has been blocked from using our website going forward.
