Printulu does not care.
Don't use Printulu if you know what's good for you. You know... the age old saying "you get what you pay for" rings true in this instance. Allow me to explain. So what started out as a very good first impression with Printulu... with friendly staff, good communication, quick turn around time and somewhere between average and good quality (on average, 1 in 8-10 business cards had very noticeable defects, especially with their matte lamination)... was short lived, as we used them a month later when we realized the number on our business cards were wrong (our fault, not Printulu's). The second time we used them... for new cards with the correct number... the turn around time took 1 or 2 days longer then the first, but the quality had taken a serious dip, with 1 in every 5 cards having noticeable defects even worse then before. Clearly the view on quality control is... eish, I'm on lunch! Now we have just earlier this week, taken delivery of our latest order... 10 brochures... after nearly a month. It started out when I phoned Printulu to ask if the "bleed' (basically the allowed space for error on the edges of a page when being printed and cut to size) could be added on their side, without selecting the design service, as I did the design but did not have the tools to do a bleed, and the person on the other end said "yes, not a problem". So a week later I finished the design and we placed the order and sent the artwork and proof of payment. a few days later I get an email from one Thabang, telling me the artwork is incorrect, due to the size not being print ready (in all fairness they do request print ready artwork) and also because there is no bleed. So I called and spoke to Thabang and told him I set the size to A4 when I created the design and that someone on their side said they can add the bleed. He then asked me to correct the artwork. I tried and when I could not fix the size, I called again. This time I dealt with a man named Shelton. He was very helpful and I had dealt with him before. He gave me tools necessary to complete the resize, but the I still could not get the bleed to work. Finally all was sorted and he requested an artwork to be done tot complete the bleed, at no extra cost. (again, because we were told they can do it.) Now bare in mind all this back and forth, took around 5 days and on Friday afternoon when I was still unsure of whether the upload was correct and ready for print, I phoned Shelton and told me he will find out and get back to me even if its after hours. I told him that's not necessary and he insisted it was fine and he would do it. I never heard from him, the weekend came we would continue on Monday. So first thing Monday morning the 24th Feb, I phone to find out what the result is and well, Shelton was still not sure. He told me he would let me know later in the day, so I said "okay"... I never heard from him, but I got an email requesting I approve the artwork if it is correct. I checked it and approved. Friday the 28th Feb came (a whole work week), and I had not heard a thing, so I phoned around 11h45 and true as god, nothing had happen. Not one person got the email where I approved the artwork. Not one person decided to follow up on our order. Instead Shelton tells me that he is so sorry, and he has sent it through to the final phase now. So I asked when we could expect delivery... no the 9th of March. Are you ****ing kidding Printulu??? I swore right there and then and called bull****. The website says delivery at latest 10 working days after approval. I approved, waited a week and then on top of that got told another 10 days. So 17 days in other words. *******! Shelton then told me he will try fast track the order to be delivered before then. I then asked to speak to Shelton's boss, he then told me that his boss is in a meeting and would get him to call me back. I waited and waited. I only heard from his "boss" named Dalwin, after 18h00 that day, while running late and getting ready for a dinner appointment, and whats funny is when the phone cut out for some reason, Dalwin never bothered to phone back. The next day, Shelton phoned me to let me know delivery would be made on Wednesday the 4th March. So that's about 2 and a half weeks after doing the payment. and a week and a half after approving the design. Okay, so the brochures arrived on Wednesday, and they do look nice. I was then phoned by Shelton asking if they arrived, and he apologized for everything and said he will speak to his superiors and see if there is something they can do for us to make it up to us. I told him I don't think there will be anything we need but I will talk to my boss and see. I also told him that I will still be posting this review regardless, and that he has till Friday to let me know if they will be offering anything for the inconvenience, and that my review will be heavily influenced as to whether they offer anything or not. It is now Saturday the 7th March. I have not yet heard back. And so I post the full story of the utter lack of service from Printulu's side. Now Shelton was very well composed and all but his lack of communication and empty promises (always saying he will get back to me) was appalling. Will not use Printulu again. Will pay a bit more and get better quality instead.
