PRINSLOO BEKKER - Settle the bill amount

I recently sold my House, and the transaction of the house was handled by Prinsloo Bekker Attorney's. The attorney handling my registration is Janita Botha.

My situation is that I now received a bill from City Of Tshwane, which says I now have to pay the monthly bill of R757.56, and to my understanding I no longer owe anything to that house.

When I go to the municipality, I'm told that the attorney took time to settle the clearance amount owed on that property. And when I inform the Attorney's, they are telling me that they've closed the case, and they cannot help me..

I believe this is not my fault, and I wont pay the amount because when the house is sold, the municipality issues the clearance memo which is valid for 4 months, meaning that the attorney had to pay within that months. If an amount is not settled within that period, another clearance memo must be issued, or the attorney has to settle whatever outstanding amount arises..
