Prince Mthembu Attorneys-Durban 0Star service

Today marks 8 month's after purchasing property through Prince Mthembu Attorneys in Durban. We, my husband and I paid the purchase price as well as transferring fees, signed offer to purchase. In August we were told to submit our tax things to them of which we did promptly.

From then until now, we still have no property registered on our names. The most annoying thing is NO ONE kept or keeps us updated. We have to keep phoning their office of which we get NO joy and/or straight answer rather than that we are told "we're trying our best to push this matter" and we get promised it will be lodged at deeds office by certain date. When the lady that deals with transfers is NOT there, we are told to leave a message, seldom she'll return the call.

The reason as per the company for this to take long is because it's an estate late sale, BUT REALLY DOES ESTATE LATE PROPERTY TAKE THIS LONG TO BE REGISTERED AT DEEDS OFFICE?

In December my husband was promised by February everything will be sorted, which was a pure lie. Off recently we were given an excuse that Pietermaritzburg deeds office was on strike. Already three Rates clearance issued by the municipality figures has expired due to rates fees NOT paid by an attorney, now even if there was NO strike this property registration wouldn't have been lodged at Deeds office with outstanding rates fees.

I believe keeping your customers updated on the progress of their matter is very important. Efficient service is very important, I am extremely disappointed with the service received from Prince Mthembu Attorneys, we didn't expect such service from a black owned company. I like supporting our very own black owned companies, BUT most the times they disappoint, I thought since Prince Mthembu Attorneys was a professional company, this won't happen. So many are times I even wished we could get another attorney to do this transfer, but false time frame kept us there hoping it will come right plus, we purchased through them.

I don't wish for anyone to experience what we've experienced. We can't DO nothing until we get the lodgement letter. We can't even apply for the municipality water meter which takes between 2-6 months to be installed after application nor have our plans approved at the municipal office, since they need title deed or lodgement letter. By June we thought our house would have been built BUT NO it doesn't look like it.
