Faulted car

I reside in Cape Town. In February I bought a car online from Primo Executive Cars in Boksburg, Johannesburg. On 17th February 2017 I took a flight from Cape Town to JHB to take get my vehicle after the salesman told me that the bank has approved meand the vehicle is ready I can come fetch it. I signed the paper work and took off for Cape Town. The catalytic converter light came off just after I passed Bloemfontein but because it was Friday evening I continued to drive until I got to Cape Town Saturday morning. I informed the dealership, they advised that I take the car to a VW dealership for a diagnostic test which came out that the previous workmaship installed and put a glue on a wornout fuel sensor. . Primo Executive told me they cannot pay for the replacement of the sensor, I must take the car to JHB at my expense so they send it to their trusted service centers. I told them about the costs to come to JHB and that why can't they contact any service center in Cape Town and let it diagnose the car and pay them directly if they think I am ******** them. All my efforts failed and they argue that the car was fine when I took it from their dealership and the light only came off after I drove a thousand plus kilometers. It hurts to pay a bank a car that does not give you what you bought it for, yet you pay to maintain it because extendent warranty does not cover parts that are faulty due to bad workmanship or do not have a warranty from the manufacturer.

Good day Mr Mangxongxoza, I would like to point out that we sold you a beautiful VW with the best intentions. As you already know we do not have a workshop and do not do repairs on vehicles. This vehicle was tested and checked extensively as we do with all of our vehicles. We did not pick this up. As explained we do not test vehicles for 500km at a time. This is not within the norms of our business. The part that you are reffering to is a wearing item and as such should be covered by you.

With the repair coming to light so close to delivery, we are happy to cover 50% of the cost at a workshop other than VW. We will source the dealer in Cape Town as we are not fami**** with anyone right now.

We are busy challenging a MIO recomendation but feel that if we can come to an agreement before this it will suit both of us.

Looking forward to your email response.
