Worst insurance ever

I had an accident on the 8/01/26 with my car, I did everything I had to do as a client to ensure the claim moves fast, police incident number, tracker information you name it I submitted it on time. I was then told around the 15th if I’m not mistaken I was told my claim has been approved and of course I was charged additional excess I was not aware of, but I still paid it because I was also advised that the repairs on my car will only start after I paid the excess. I did that because I was hoping my car will be fixed ASAP as I have car hire for 15days. Only on the 22nd of Jan I was told the quote for repairs is still with the assessors who is negotiating on the price of the parts and also I was supposed to know the damages on my car, when the accident happened midnight and it was raining. I then lodged a complaint because how am I supposed to get around when they ask me to return the car hire and they won’t review that as it’s part of my contract. Which I only received a generic email which is probably sent to everyone, no phone call nothing, just a generic email from some Musa in complaint department. Till this day my car is sitting somewhere with the panel beater collecting dust”waiting for parts” to be delivered. Almost a month later since the incident nothing has been done. All you get is ow just wait we busy. Never missed a premium/payment, still getting debit order with a car I don’t have. From what I see this insurance is only good in their sales and service departments, but when they have to deliver the promise when it comes to claims they will make it the worst experience for you and inconvenience you for as long as they can, trying to source out cheap part to use on your car. How difficult is it to fix a car really. I am so done with this company and I will spread the word. I’m definitely going to the ombudsman for being exploited and incorrectly advised. I’m gonna need all the call recordings and happy to invest time in making it miserable for you just as you have done for me

Hello Nonzwakazi I,

Thank you for sharing your feedback and we’re sorry for the inconvenience that you have experienced.

At Prime, we strive to deliver quality service and a seamless and supportive experience. We understand how important it is to have your vehicle repaired promptly, especially when you rely on it for your daily needs.

Upon reviewing your claim, our records indicate that our client service team has informed you that the Estimated Completion Date for repairs is 20 February 2026. The process of determining the extent of damages by stripping the car and moderating quotes may cause the process to take a little longer, however, these are standard insurance practice to ensure quality repairs at fair costs, helping us keep premiums affordable.

We encourage our clients to take out car hire for longer periods in our policy updates sent to them to ensure they stay mobile during unavoidable delays. Our Market Conduct Team will contact you shortly to provide further support and a detailed response on the current progression.

At Prime, we offer an optional Car Hire Benefit which ensures you stay mobile while your car is being repaired, to combat the difficulties of being without your car.

Committed to resolving your concern with care.

Kind regards,
The Prime SA Team
