Worst insurance ever.

This is the worst insurance ever. They rejected my claim as they were saying I parked *******. They further made me to pay +R6000 for towing, although I told them that I had a head injury during the accident and I had to be rushed to hospital. I told them that I repeatedly told the towing company who was on the scene not to tow my car without authorisation. Instead of not paying the company who towed my car without my consent, they made me to pay for the towing. I also told them that I had a witness who was on the scene who can testify on that, but they never even contacted the person. They were threatening me of adding the storage charges if I did not collect my car so I had to pay the money even though it was not my fault. When I asked the guy who towed my car why he towed it without authorisation from the insurance. He told me that he tried calling the insurance but they never responded so he decided to tow the car because they are working with the insurance as they are on their database. I also explained that to the insurance but they never listened. All they were saying is that, I'm the one who authorised the towing company to tow my car so I have to pay. During the period of the claim, every time they were calling they made a point of leaving me more depressed as they always telling me bad news when they call. Don't ever, ever consider PMD to insure you vehicle.

I did write a dispute on the 21 October 2024 but you never entertained my dispute. Even the guy from King Auto Tech towing company was shocked that you made me pay R6453.92 to release my car from Gobid. He further told me that you never paid them the amount of R4283.75 that you alleged that you paid them. They also told me that you never contacted them concerning the the towing arrangements that you alleged that I authorise them to tow my vehicle. So I became a victim of the process that was beyond my control as I was rushed to hospital due to head injury injury.

Dear Sinekhaya Z,
Thank you for your post.
At Prime, we take immense pride in paying all valid claims and in ensuring that all are claims are validated in line with transparency and fairness.

Whilst it is true that the purpose of insurance is to protect one in the event of an accident, it is also true that such cover is only provided on the condition that a driver keeps to the policy terms and conditions as well as the rules of the road.

Our Market Conduct Team confirms that they will be in contact with you to provide you with comprehensive feedback regarding your claim outcome and the applicable release fees.

It will no doubt delight you to recall that unlike with many other insurers, with Prime the excess payable when you claim under comprehensive cover reduces to absolute zero - and in a remarkably short period of time.

Assuring you of our continued best endeavours.

Kind regards,
The Prime SA Team
