Victimised For a Hit and Run when I'm the victim.

On the 8th of May 2025, I was involved in a hit and run car accident, my daughter was in the car and the car was badly damaged. The claim went through and got approved, but the charged me an additional over 5k of excess because I don't have the details of my hit and run driver. I have been asking them why would they do that if there's already proof I was the only one who remained at the scene and the other driver left me and my child there. Tumi's manager said that I'm charged the additional excess because I was in the car when the hit and run happened. What I'm hearing is that I'm being punished because I didn't chase the hit and run driver, that when you're in a hit and run, as per PMD you must leave the scene of an accident to acquire the hit and run driver's details, regardless of injuries, safety, the law(which doesn't permit you to leave the scene of accident), regardless of the welfare of your passengers and the welfare of other motorists. I'm genuinely disappointed in PMD, they have all the evidence that I was hit and left at the scene by the other driver, my car wasn't even drivable. How am I supposed to get the details of a hit and run driver? PMD are you advising us to risk our lives, the lives of our passengers, the lives of other motorists and break the law all in an effort to do a car chase with our hit and run driver's, so that we're not hit with an over 5k additional excess? Because it sounds like you're saying that.
