Very Frustrating when it comes to claims, imagine being told to retrieve my own AR report being told to retrieve my AR report physical from wherever it is(probably police station)

Very Frustrating when it comes to claims. It's like they looking for a loophole so they can reject the claim. I logged a claim on the 1st of August...they towed my car from the accident scene on the 31st of July, when joining in march I had Cartrack which I installed myself before I joined PMD. Along the way I missed Cartrack payments and decided to cancel the contract. PMD said to me they've got nothing to do with me and my Cartrack when I join the car insurance. Hence I didn't see any need of informing them that I've decided to terminate my contract with Cartrack. I now owe Cartrack the last two months premiums plus the disconnection fee for termination of contract...which is an agreement between myself and Cartrack and as a result my service with Cartrack has been suspended.

Surprisingly... PMD is now insisting on me, getting data for the day of the accident from Cartrack, regardless of how many times and the proof that I wasn't using their services anymore. How can PMD expect Cartrack to provide me with information when I'm not their customer anymore...I mean really now. This is the SMS that PMD send me: PMD Claim No. CL***: Good day Ma'am As per phone conversation ,documents have been attached. However to further validate your claim we will still need to contact Cartrack to see if they have cancelled your product as your acc seems to be in Arreas. Please advise when claims tech can call you to do a conference call to do this. Please also retrieve full AR report (phsycical). Thank you Imagine that...why is Cartrack information withholding my claim when we never had an agreement of keeping it active for as long as I have car insurance with PMD?

Dear Mr Mphoshomane,

Thank you for your post.

We recognize that since the registration of your claim, you might feel as though you have not had a satisfactory experience with us. We are truly sorry that you feel this way.

Rest assured that it is standard practice for insurers to obtain all the relevant information for a claim to be assessed. Our company prides itself on providing world class service and in promptly paying all valid claims.

We wish to highlight that the SAPS is an external body and thus we recommend that clients obtain the Accident Report as it is quicker and it expedites the claim validation, however there are instances where we appoint an external party to obtain the AR copy on our behalf.

We assure you that these records that are requested are not trivial and in fact greatly assist in expediting the claims process as these records greatly assist in confirming the date, time, and location of an accident. Our Market Conduct Team will be in touch to provide you with detailed feedback.

It will undoubtedly please you to know that PMD offers 15- or 30-day car hire options for those unforeseeable incidents when you are rendered immobile

Kind regards,

The PMD Team
