Very Bad experience on Prime SA
We were involved in an accident on 25 Dec 2024 and the claim was only approved around March 2025 and we took the car in for repairs.
The car is still stripped as at Today waiting for some body panels (bumper to be specific), this as the result of Prime SA having ordered incorrect parts.
We asked the Insurer to extend the car hire since they are at fault, we were taken from pillar to post. My wife and kids are now relying on Bolt as a result of poor procurement by Prime SA. It is clear that they don't have any regard to their customers. How can they refer us to the 15 days car hire in the policy but forget to refer themselves to a 21 days repairs promise and commitment.
I'm very disappointed in their handling of the claim and expected repair work....and failure to extend the car hire
Thank you for your post.
The parts required for your vehicle are rare and difficult to source locally, as there are limited manufacturers in South Africa. Despite ordering directly from the dealer using the VIN, the incorrect bumper was delivered. Unfortunately, this was beyond the control of Prime, the repairer, or yourself.
We understand how frustrating this situation has been for you and your family. While the policy terms regarding car hire were explained, we acknowledge the impact this has had on your daily life. Please rest assured that we are working closely with the repairer to ensure the process is completed as quickly as possible. The vehicle is currently in the paint shop, and an estimated completion date has been communicated to you.
Our Market Conduct team will contact you to provide more context.
At Prime, we pride ourselves on partnering with a trusted SLA panel of repairers to ensure quality repairs and service. We value your feedback and will use it to improve our processes.
Kind regards,
Prime SA Team
