VEHICLE INSURANCE PROBLEMS

I have insured my car with PMD and on 10.09.2022 I met an accident and my car was partially damaged while we were not injured as the accident was not that bad. I then submitted a claim to my insurance and the outcome was that it is deemed a write off. I then requested to have a 2nd opinion done by an accredited panel beater and they nicely authorized that. Now here is the challenge after receiving the quotation from the second opinion which say the car can be repaired and be brought to it normal state. Now im being sent back and forth they need a consent from the bank that is financing my car. they refused to give me a quotation with an amount on the vehicle saying that the repairs costed above 80% on the value of the car. 30 day have passed now, each time they call me they ask me to sign a acknowledgement of loss document I told them I cant sign because im not loosing anything here. my clain no. is CL***. THEY'VE RECENTLY FABRICATED A COMPLAINT saying that i said im not comfortable with signing their document which is not the case because I advised that I opting for my car to be repaired as the second opinion suggested. They don't feedback me in writing they wait for me call and ask me to sign the acknowledgement of loss document that they sent me. I have recently recruited my two sisters to join they which are observing all this Ms. Ndaba policy ****** and Ms Gumede MX***).

 Dear GeraldeneM ,

Thank you for your post. We assure you that PMD prides itself in providing world-class client service at every interaction.

Our dedicated assessing team makes every effort to ensure that all vehicle assessments are accurate and reasonable based on the accident damage. A review of your approved claim confirms that the repair cost for your vehicle is more than 80% of the vehicle’s trade value, deeming it uneconomical to repair.

Our internal Market Conduct Department will contact you again to provide you with more detailed information regarding the outcome of your claim as well as clarity about the write off status.

We are pleased to re-confirm that unlike with many other insurers, with PMD the excess payable when you claim under comprehensive cover reduces to absolute zero - and in a remarkably short period of time.

Assuring you of our best continued endeavours on your behalf.

Kind Regards,

The PMD Team
