Unhappy Prime meridian direct client.

Dear Peter,

I am currently insured with Prime Meridian Direct(PMD). My car was broken into on the 19th October 2019. I claimed with Prime Meridian Direct immediately. My car was towed to SMD in Pretoria West the same day. It's been investigation and investigation since the incident happened on the 19 Of October 2019.

I literally had to fight them to speed up the process. I do most of the admin even though theres a consultant whom is supposed to do all the admin. When I don't phone to ask about the progress of my claim, they don't communicate with me at all.

My vehicle was towed on the 19 October 2019 to SMD in Pretoria west. On the 2 December 2019 that's when they decided to tow the vehicle to the panelbeaters in Pretoria west and of which I had to go through a long list of panelbeaters they had sent me and decide which one to take the car to.

I then decided to go check on the vehicle at the workshop. Found that the bumper of the vehicle had some scratches and the grill was messed up. Made a claim again said they would investigate.

On the 12 December 2019 I received a call from the panelbeaters saying that since 9th of December 2019, they have been in communication with my insurance that they need an approval from them to fit in the starter of which it was not on the quotation. They response was they were still busy with investigations. Though the assessor had approved the repair work to be done on my vehicle.

I still don't have a vehicle now since the 19th of October. What's really infuriating is that I have to do most of the admin, communicate between the panelbeaters and PMD.

From my experience with Prime Meridian Direct has been nothing short of misleading and miserable, poor service. As this is my first claim, I expected better service.

I'm extremely disappointed, infuriated by PMD. I would never recommend it to anyone I know. This is unpleasant, unprofessional to say the least.....

 Dear Matsobane M,

Thank you for taking the time to bring your displeasure to our attention.

We pride ourselves on providing world-class service and your feedback helps us do just that. We apologise for the inconvenience you have experienced during this time.

Due to the damage to your bumper not being accident-related, we are unfortunately unable to cover it. However, as the towing company is our service provider, we have escalated the matter to them and will be monitoring the process until the matter has been solved.

You no doubt remember that unlike many other insurers, with PMD comprehensive cover your claims excess reduces to zero - and it does so within a surprisingly short period of time.

Assuring you of our continued best endeavours on your behalf.

Kind regards,

The PMD Team
