Unfair dishonest payout

Hello Peter,

PMD claim. It has been a nightmare to claim and it has been over 20 days without payment due to dispute of the payment amount

We have Third Party Plus cover.

The vehicle was write-off without any reason and quotation from approved repairers to show that the car is a economical write off.

They want to payout R86000 for a vehicle which is worth double the amount. Vehicle trade is R157000.

The buy back option they offered R26000 and the car back, of which the GBA (wallet growth plan). Is R56000.

They refuse to pay what the agreement stated. We have disputed this and still they reject without the necessary paperwork that we have requested.

We have requested that they give us proof of the damages, of which they have not furnished to us.

The R26000 that they are willing to payback is almost equivalent to the installments that we have paid for the past few years.

The cover is meant to grow by R1000 every months, meaning that the amount that they are paying is totally out of proportion.

They have sent the metter to legal and investigation, and still rejected. Now they took the matter to dispute and still reject to pay out the GBA amount.

We have requested for them to send necessary documentions for this claim to be rejected and nothing has been done.

They requested a quotation from us, and we have furnished them with this, and they rejected saying that the quotation is incomplete.

We asked the for their quotation that show that the car is a write-off and they have refused to do so.

Hello Arthur M

Thank you for your post. We truly value your feedback and are committed to providing world-class client service. Our dedicated assessing team works diligently to ensure all vehicle assessments are fair and accurate.

We understand your frustration regarding the repair costs for your vehicle. Unfortunately, the costs exceed what is economical for us to repair. We note that you have chosen to keep your car. When a claim is a total loss, the insurer typically pays the full benefit amount and retains the salvage. If you decide to keep the salvage, this is factored into the settlement amount.

Our Market Conduct Department will reach out to you soon to provide more detailed information about your claim and clarify the write-off status.

We also want to reassure you that with PMD, the excess payable under comprehensive cover reduces to zero in a remarkably short period of time, unlike many other insurers.

Assuring you of our best continued endeavors on your behalf.

Kind Regards,
The Prime Team
