They are REVENUE COLLECTORS and do not like paying out claims

They do not practice what they advertise. I became a client of PMD 2 months ago. All discussions are telephonic. At the time of joining them I was residing in a poor network reception area and during the joining telephone discussion not able to hear the conversation very well. I was previously with them and against my better judgement rejoined them. What I wanted was comprehensive insurance from day one. I was not aware that your cover grows from zero to the value of your vehicle in the future. Unfortunately I had an accident on 18/08/2017. They do not send an assessor to access your damage. They tell you to send photographs and sit behind a desc and access your damage. They initially try and find as many reason NOT to pay a claim. Submitting a claim at PMD is like going through hell. I am 64 years of age and never in my life with reputable insurers have I had to put up with the ******* they tell you. A few years ago I was insured with PMD . I was driving a Ford Icon which caught fire in the engine compartment of the vehicle while I was driving. They maintained it was due to mechanical breakdown and refused to pay. I was then on the point of taking them to court and for them to prove "mechanical breakdown". They beventually paid 50% of the value of the vehicle. The ******* in addition they have conveyed in response to Hello Peter complaints is not the truth. All I can do now is to warn all new clients of PMD and prospective new clients of PMD is to check the fine print of the contract first. If you think you have comprehensive cover from day one, this will not be the case. In the latest claim, I have submitted everything they wanted and now they are dead quite. The damage to my vehicle amounts to approximately R 30 000. They want to give me R 2 000.
